Been cleaning for Pesach. Right now working on my oven and stove top. Well technically I'm on a break to blog about it.

Why is Pesach cleaning so exhausting? Besides for the obvious explanation of it being Spring Cleaning on Steroids.

Its exhausting but I'm pushing through it. Looking forward to having a clean stove/oven at least. Plus like the knowledge that I can do this. I can clean my apartment. I am getting a good grade at cleaning.

comments

Part of the challenge with the writing is I struggle at times with balancing the powers. On one hand, I want Helen/North Star in this au to have an upward climb. I also want it to be realistic when she gets to the top.

Like with canon, Tori Rivas is constantly working her way upwards. Slowly improving her design. Where a character like Ivan/Fornax starts from the top and then slowly weakens.

My notion is Helen's power at the core is through deal making. She trades her name i.e. her identity to a mysterious Fae being. She's transcendent like Fornax and Cyber Geek.

The limits on the sort of deals she can make is based on both her will power, her cleverness, and her sense of self. She has plenty of will power and a strong sense of self. As for the deals, she can herself make deals where she "takes others names" and gains their abilities.

There are limits to it. Of course. Particularly when you are working against a still living soul. Still... I'm planning on her slowly working on her determination, focus, ability to harness her magic as a bolster for combat as well as a few extra surprises. I really hope it works out because gosh darn it I love Helen and love good things for her.

comments

Still figuring out how to use this site so here we go.

I am currently writing a fanfiction for Villains Code I call the When You Wish Upon a Star. Where Helen Calestis is Lodestar in the original series, in my fanfiction, she is converted into a fey or fairy.

I'm hoping to get on top of this posting and just go over random thoughts and world building and stuff.

comments

The truth is I really love and admire Lodestar. I just think she's really cool. Plus lowkey her time as like a journalist definitely helped her out as a Cape.

comments
